Psychedelic Coloring Poster

Psychedelic Coloring Poster from 1967 by Donna Dichter

Description

This poster at this point in time is probably one-of-a-kind. There is no information about it, about the artist Donna Dichter, about the company, Underground Distributors, nothing. It’s important to note that the late 1960s ushered in a huge craze for posters. Teenagers covered their walls (and ceilings) with these inexpensive, disposable works of art and hundreds of printers and poster stores and distributors sprang up to serve the exploding market – but often these companies were in business for just a few years and then moved on to chase the next fad.

The poster reflects the psychoactive effects of being stoned on pot or tripping. There are a number of words hidden in the poster as well as many faces and figures. “Acid” appears in a few places, but also STP, LSD 25, Faith, Peace, and Love. At the bottom towards the right we get the name of the artist, Donna Dichter.
